Combat in My Galaxy happens when fleets clash — over resources, territory, or pride. When hostile ships meet, the battle resolves according to fleet strength, composition, and technology. You receive battle reports in the messages panel with outcomes and losses.

Defence basics:

• Keep warships stationed at home when threats are near.
• Orbital cannons (up to 20 per location) fire from your base — attackers must survive orbit fire and your fleet.
• Upgrade hulls and weapons through research before picking fights.
• Scout an enemy fleet before committing your main force.
• Retreat is sometimes wiser than total loss — live to rebuild.

Attacking another player has diplomatic consequences. Strike only when you accept the risk of retaliation or war. AI factions also patrol space; do not assume every neighbour is passive.

After battle, repair and rebuild. A single defeat rarely ends an empire; repeated overextension does.
