Your Headquarters

Your headquarters (HQ) is the heart of your empire. Click it on the map to open the location menu — separate from the global burger menu. Here you manage everything tied to that world.
Location hub — twelve entries
Click your HQ building (palace icon) to open the hub grid:
| Topic | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Building | Place and upgrade structures (33 plots). |
| Research | Technology queue. |
| Shipyard | Build ships (needs yard building). |
| Storage | Map resource warehouse levels. |
| Energy | Power balance and storage. |
| Map production | Industry on/off and flow per resource. |
| Population | Citizens, mood, growth blockers. |
| Transport | Send resources to another galaxy map (not between bases on the same map). |
| Trade | Trade center deals on this map. |
| Diplomacy | Contacts and requests for this map. |
| Museum | Artifacts shop and equip. |
| Office | Avatars shop and equip. |
Grey tiles need the required building first. Some specials (recycler, civil harbor) open when you click that special building on the ground view instead of the HQ.
Surface and orbit
Each location offers up to 33 building plots on the ground. Plan carefully — when the grid is full, you must upgrade, demolish, or expand elsewhere before placing more structures.
Many locations can also build in low orbit around the planet: shipyards, trade hubs, and other orbital facilities appear as structures circling your world. To unlock orbit slots, you need the matching support building on the surface — the ground base and the orbital layer work together.
Defense
Locations can be protected by orbital cannons — up to 20 cannons per site. Build and upgrade defense structures on the surface; each level adds firepower in orbit. Cannons fire on hostile fleets that enter range and are a strong reason to think twice before attacking a well-defended colony.
What you can do at your HQ
- Build — place and upgrade structures on available plots.
- Research — unlock technologies for your faction.
- Shipyard — construct and outfit vessels.
- Storage, energy, population — balance resources and citizens.
- Trade, transport, map production — connect your empire.
- Special buildings — recycler, civil harbor, museum, and more (each opens its own panel).
Each location type (planet, moon, station, old ship) uses the same menu pattern but feels different on the map — weather, atmosphere, and layout vary. Treat every base as a living colony, not just a resource node.
